Equality and Diversity Policy
At abrs we are committed to being an inclusive organisation that provides equality of opportunity to all in terms of employment, recruitment and the service we provide to our customers. All individuals, regardless of gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, age and religion or belief system, must be treated fairly and equitably. We believe diversity is essential for the future success of enterprise and our commitment to this ensures everyone has the opportunity to enjoy rewarding and fulfilling working lives.
In our business we vigorously promote a culture of diversity; our clients expect it if we are to propose candidates for their workforce. We have a healthy range of attitudes and characteristics that reflects fairly the society we live in.
There is UK employment legislation in place to ensure we apply diversity in all companies, regardless of size or sector. This is designed to eliminate discrimination in the workplace and give everyone the opportunity to enjoy rewarding and fulfilling working lives.
To ensure that we are proactive in promoting equality and diversity in our work we undertake a wide range of approaches including the following:
- Our diversity policy is communicated to all employees.
- We provide constant training and regular updates to all consultants to ensure we strive to provide best practice and adhere to changes in law and regulations.
- We believe in, and promote job share, progression, development, reward and providing a work environment free from bullying, harassment and discrimination.
- Applicants are all encouraged to complete an equalities monitoring form.
- We utilise social and professional networks to promote opportunities to a wider range of individuals to achieve diversity as well as advertising in a wide range of online and offline media.
- Making judgements based on a candidate's individual merits is at the heart of our diversity policy. That is why we encourage competency-based procedures as part of our selection processes. This ensures any decisions are objective and based purely on personal merit.
- We have an equality and human rights legal framework covering employment practices and service delivery and we need to ensure we work within this and avoid discrimination.
